Guardian appoints Director of Product

Guardian News & Media has announced that Alex Musil - Executive Vice President of Product at Shazam - has been appointed Director of Product.

Guardian appoints Director of Product

As part of GNM's digital-first strategy, Alex will be overseeing the development of the Guardian's product team and will be responsible for planning its product portfolio.

Alex will join GNM in August this year, reporting into GNM's Director of Digital Development, Tanya Cordrey.

Tanya Cordrey said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Alex to the Guardian. He brings with him extensive experience that is completely in line with the Guardian's forward-thinking approach towards digital innovation. Heading up our product team, Alex's role is critical to the development of our next generation product portfolio".

Alex said: "I'm excited to soon join the passionate and talented team at the Guardian. The Guardian has been a continual innovator in delivering great content and products in the digital arena. I look forward to working on the many more innovations to come."
