NewspaperDirect to provide publications for Olympics

NewspaperDirect will be working with its local distribution partner, Jones Yarrell Leadenhall (JYL), which will be facilitating the day-to-day newspaper production and operations of the International Newsstand within the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and Main Press Centre (MPC) complex for the duration of the Games. In addition, newspapers and magazines will be distributed at the Athletes’ Village for delivery directly to team residences and lounge areas.

Patrick King, managing director of JYL Ltd, said “Having worked with NewspaperDirect for many years and providing London’s businesses with international newspapers on the day of sale, it is fantastic to be able to build on this relationship for the 2012 Games. JYL will bring market-leading bespoke fulfillment service to keep athletes, media and event organisers from around the world informed and entertained via the NewspaperDirect platform.”

“The 2012 London Games provide an ideal venue for showcasing the enormous variety of newspapers and magazines from around the world that are available through the NewspaperDirect network,” said Alex Kroogman, CEO of NewspaperDirect. “These top athletes and their teams will be able to see how their favourite hometown newspapers are reporting on their successes, and stay in touch with what’s happening back home.”

Publications will be provided in multiple formats including original-format offset printing and full-colour large-scale digital production. Additionally, onsite cut-sheet production will also be available and will offer publishers from 96 countries the opportunity to provide Day-A content to readers during the Games.
