Time Out London to launch as free title

The first free edition will be available in the autumn of 2012.

Time Out says: “Time Out has been helping Londoners make the most of the city for more than 40 years. In this time the market has changed, and people access their information, reviews and recommendations in radically new and different ways. We believe the changes we’re making to the magazine will help us remain relevant to more people than ever for many years to come.

The new magazine will be fully integrated into the large existing portfolio of Time Out products. Also, we feel we cannot continue to charge for a magazine when the rest of our editorial and listings – on the website, iPad, iPhone and Android apps, and email newsletters – are all free.

By making the magazine free, we will be able to share Time Out’s knowledge and expertise with more people than we ever have, and we hope it will inspire millions more Londoners to enjoy the best that the capital has to offer.”
