The publisher will take over the account with full effect from Tuesday 23 October. The contract covers the co-creation and joint publication of the quarterly Catalyst magazine with CIM; the running of the Exchange news website; and a commercial operation covering display advertising, the CIM Jobs Site and other brand extensions.

The first issue of Catalyst magazine to be published by LID Publishing will be posted to CIM members in January.

Chris Daly, CIM chief executive, welcomed the appointment. He said: “This is an important step in the development of Catalyst and Exchange, as we strive to offer the very best in marketing journalism to our members.”

LID Publishing publishes approximately 60 business books every year, working with elite authors across the world. It holds the magazine and digital media contract publishing accounts for Duke Corporate Education (Dialogue) and The Institute of Leadership & Management (Edge).

Ben Walker, LID Publishing editorial director, said: “We are excited to be working with CIM on Catalyst and Exchange, two great business media brands that command huge potential for compelling editorial and providing cutting-edge learning to CIM’s membership.”

The former associate editor of Brand Strategy, Morag Cuddeford-Jones, a senior marketing journalist, has been named as editor of Catalyst. The former Marketing Week features editor and CNBC marketing correspondent Lucy Handley has been appointed editor-at-large.

Martin Liu, publisher at LID Publishing, said: “CIM is the world’s largest body for marketing professionals. We are thrilled to be working with an organisation of such huge prestige and pedigree. In partnership, Catalyst and Exchange will go from strength to strength.”
