ESco launches Content Workflow module

Alistair Wood: "This new module demonstrates ESco’s ability and relentless drive to deliver digital solutions to our specialist publishers."

This new module extends ESco’s digital offering. According to the company, the development facilitates the following:

* Fully controlled digital content creation

* Role based permissions

* Audit trail of content changes

* Searchable digital archive

* Image management

* Integration with InDesign for print publications

Working very closely with the production team at Riviera Maritime Media, a publisher who provides insight, analysis and intelligence to maritime and offshore professionals, ESco have developed a full content management and workflow system which integrates with all of the 25 websites ESco already hosts for Riviera.

Designed for production and editorial staff, the solution allows articles to be written using an online text editor which tracks and records changes providing a full audit trail of all modifications.

Once the first draft is written, the article moves through a predefined workflow notifying the relevant individuals along the way, taking the article through a journey of editing and proofing until it is ready to be published online. This digital journey is fully configurable.

As soon as the article is published online, it is stored in a fully searchable archive and available to be re-used across multiple brands, or downloaded as an XML file directly into InDesign for easy publication in print form, removing the need to copy and paste text and re-import images.

The Content Workflow solution is fully integrated with ESco’s online Publishing Platform and together they provide all the tools needed to create a successful online presence for any brand, says ESco.

Commenting on the recent development, Hamish Dickie, Riviera’s Head of Production said: “During the design and build phase of our new editorial authoring CMS, ESco first listened to our bespoke requirements before providing the advice and direction we needed. Throughout development and testing, we not only benefited from their experience but also the solutions they proactively provided, as well as ongoing support after going live, and all the while given by friendly staff!”

Alistair Wood, the Operations & Development Director added, “This new module demonstrates ESco’s ability and relentless drive to deliver digital solutions to our specialist publishers, while still remaining competitive and cost-effective. This solution will enable publishers like Riviera to transition from a traditional ‘print first’ workflow to a ‘digital first’ workflow, but with easy integration into InDesign for any print publications. We’re very excited about this new module and looking forward to working with other publishers to help them in the same way we’ve supported Riviera.”
