Tony Parsons book to be serialised on GQ

Dylan Jones: "An author making their novel available in its entirety for free ahead of publication is a rare and exciting venture."

The first chapter went live on GQ.co.uk at 3pm yesterday. GQ will then publish one chapter at a time over the course of the following weeks, with the final chapter going live the week commencing 15th April. GQ’s collaboration with Century, Penguin Random House and Parsons, who writes a monthly column for GQ, will allow readers free and exclusive access to the novel ahead of hitting the shelves.

Dylan Jones, Editor of British GQ said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Tony Parsons and Penguin Random House on this very special project to mark the end of this hugely successful series of detective novels. An author making their novel available in its entirety for free ahead of publication is a rare and exciting venture. GQ continues to experience a growing appetite and consistent demand for even more digital content. To meet the needs of our readers, this innovative collaboration is another example of how we are delivering and expanding our content on GQ.co.uk in a completely new way.”

Selina Walker, Publisher at Century, Penguin Random House, says: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with GQ on the publication of #taken. Tony Parsons is such an accomplished author, the Max Wolfe series goes from strength to strength, and #taken is one of his very best. Sharing brilliant stories is at the heart of what we do and we hope this innovative online serialisation with GQ will bring Tony Parson’s gripping crime novels to readers who love them as much as we do.”

Tony Parsons, Author of #taken, says: “I am happy and excited that the sixth Max Wolfe novel, #taken, is to be serialised online with British GQ. From Charles Dickens to Tom Wolfe, some of the greatest story-tellers of all time published novels in serial form and it is time for that tradition to be revived for the digital age. I believe that long-term fans of the Max Wolfe series will enjoy the chance the read #taken before it is published, and I hope that the GQ serialisation will introduce some new readers to the world of Max Wolfe.”

#taken is Parsons’ sixth and final novel in the DC Max Wolfe series.
