Presenter: Julian Thorne

Julian Thorne is the founder and owner of The Big Wheel Consultancy which provides specialist marketing consultancy, data insight and revenue forecasting services to clients seeking to maximise their membership, subscription and / or recurring revenues.

Julian has spent most of his career in media and all of it working with subscription and membership based business models. He is a firm believer in the ever increasing power of data to inform successful recurring revenue strategies.

For many years, he has worked with the PPA and the Association of Circulation Executives (ACE) to broaden understanding of the recurring revenue model and is a frequent contributor to InPublishing magazine.

Before founding The Big Wheel in 2014, Julian held various senior executive positions including CEO of Dovetail Services, marketing director at Saga and circulation director at Dennis Publishing. He is a fellow of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing and a regular speaker at industry events.

James Evelegh has worked in magazine publishing since 1989, and has been the editor and publisher of InPublishing since it launched in 2003. He began his career with Trinity Publishing (now DMG) and was then group circulation manager at Centaur Communications from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 2003, he worked as a circulation consultant to a wide range of companies including Guardian Media Group, FT Business, Euromoney, WH Smith News and Wilmington.
