Reach last week announced the launch of a registration pages as it gathers interest for community brands Southport Visiter and The Journal – it says a new addition to its paid offerings, offering readers a hyperlocal newsletter and reinvigorating legacy brands which have not had a dedicated online home for several years.
Piers North, CEO of Reach referred to plans for these at the Half Year Results last month.
Paul Rowland, editorial director (News), said: "I'm really excited about this new stage in our approach to hyper-local and community-driven news. The Southport Visiter and The Journal are two very different brands, but they've both served their communities since the 1800s with a clear sense of identity and purpose.
“We're now setting these brands up for the future by re-imagining them as subscription-based newsletters, bringing that same voice and values to readers, but in a format that's set up for busy 21st century lives. They'll be authentic, local, useful, personality-led, and built on a legacy of trust from nearly 200 years of serving the community."
