Niels Peter Thomas

Niels was appointed CEO of BMJ Publishing in April 2026. He has over 20 years’ international leadership experience within the Springer Group, where he most recently served as Executive VP / MD, Books.

Previous roles include president of Springer Nature Greater China and MD for the Iversity e-learning platform.

Niels also holds a PhD in Political Economy and remains active in the academic community as a visiting professor at a Beijing university, mentoring early-career researchers.
