Reels is a feature in Instagram, whereby users can generate short videos which can be seen by other users for 24 hours only, unless they are ‘highlighted’ by the user who generated the video so that they can be seen indefinitely.

Meta-owned Instagram has been introducing many features to establish a competitive presence online and to attract more creators to its platform. For instance, earlier this year they introduced a Reels Play Bonus Program to incentivise users to create reels for cash prizes dependent upon the number of views each reel received.

Text-to-speech is a feature that enables the blind and those with impaired vision to understand written text, but it is increasingly being used by video creators to narrate their content.

Voice effect features let users become even more creative with their content, modifying the audio or voiceover in the post.
