ABC welcomes three new board members

Industry auditor ABC welcomes three new members to its board: Sajeeda Merali, Tina Callcutt and Nick Service.

Sajeeda Merali, CEO of the PPA, is joining ABC as a permanent board member, representing the needs of UK publishers. She joined the PPA from New Statesman Media Group where she was chief revenue officer, and before this held various commercial roles in the B2B space including Incisive, infopro and Euromoney. Merali commented, “I’m delighted to be joining the ABC board and to speak on behalf of an industry I feel so passionate about. ABC is a highly regarded organisation and plays a key role in supporting the credibility and commercial success of many of our members. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to develop standards and services that continue to underpin the success of our UK publishing industry.”

Tina Callcutt is director of content sales at National World Publishing. Previously, she worked at Johnston Press and JPI for over 26 years in a variety of circulation management roles. She’ll bring her experience to bear representing the regional sector. Callcutt said, “Regional media plays a vital role within communities, linking local businesses and their customers. I’m delighted to be representing this sector on the ABC board, bringing trust and transparency to the trade of advertising that is the lifeblood of so many regional titles.”

Nick Service is chairman of the Hemming Group and has worked on a wide portfolio of B2B titles. He will represent Business Media titles whilst on the ABC board. He commented, “At the Hemming Group, our purpose is to provide innovative products and solutions that respond directly to the needs of customers, bringing buyers and sellers together to do business. And this is fundamentally what ABC delivers too, albeit as an industry owned and run organisation serving the needs of all sides of the market. I’m pleased to share my B2B experience and serve as the voice of this sector.”

Simon Redlich, chief executive at ABC, said, “I’m delighted to welcome our new members to the ABC board. Each of them brings an extraordinary wealth of expertise in their chosen sectors, and they will all play a key role in ensuring we continue to develop products and services that deliver multiple benefits to our industry.”

ABC’s board oversees the running of the company to serve the needs of the industry. It meets regularly and is made up of representatives from agencies, advertisers, media owners and trade bodies. Board members are nominated by the following industry associations: the IPA, ISBA, NMA, PPA and IAB UK.
