Jules Kendrick named as new CEO of JICWEBS

Jules Kendrick has been appointed Chief Executive of the Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards (JICWEBS), the cross-industry committee who define standards and best practice for digital advertising.

Jules Kendrick named as new CEO of JICWEBS

Jules brings a wealth of commercial, technology and media expertise from roles at Mumsnet.com, Amazon UK, Guardian & Observer, IDG and most recently, Business Insider where she was Client Director for UK & EMEA.

Jules joins JICWEBS at a high point in its history, says the organisation. Over the past 12 months the organisation has grown exponentially, and now boasts over 130 signatories. JICWEBS partners with the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) in the US and has recently announced a key initiative for the UK, the adoption of the TAG ‘Certified Against Fraud’ programme from 1st January 2019.

With her expertise in strategic partnerships, Jules is well positioned to further develop JICWEBS’ relationship with TAG. This is central to tackling ad fraud in two of the world’s biggest digital advertising markets. Next year will see further consolidation when JICWEBS’ DTSG Brand Safety Standards absorb TAG’s Inventory Quality Guidelines (IQG), the next step in achieving the shared goal of creating ‘global standards for local markets’.

Jon Mew, CEO of IAB UK said: “We knew at the outset of this process that we were looking for an outstanding candidate - and I am delighted to say we found her. Jules’s impressive track record and commercial, technology and media experience made our decision both easy and unanimous.”

Paul Bainsfair, Director General of IPA said: “JICWEBS has a vital role to play in delivering the transparency that forms the foundation of brand trust in the digital advertising market. I am certain Jules is the right person to lead JICWEBS and to continue to deliver the confidence in the UK’s digital marketplace that advertisers demand.”

Jules Kendrick, new Chief Executive Officer of JICWEBS added: “I’m excited to join JICWEBS at such an important time, both for the business and the industry. I’m looking forward to working with our team and our stakeholders to build on the great achievements already made towards ensuring our digital ad industry raises standards to create greater trust and transparency for our advertisers.”

She starts the newly created role on 12th November.
