Guardian readers have raised over £1 million to support five grassroots organisations tackling social division and hate and promoting tolerance and unity in communities across the UK.
Funds raised will help Citizens UK, The Linking Network, Locality, Hope Unlimited and Who is Your Neighbour? continue their community-building work throughout 2026.
Launched in a year marked by division, unrest and rising far-right rhetoric, the appeal championed practical, community-led action, added the Guardian. It was underpinned by Guardian journalism, sharing personal stories, original films and investigations that highlighted the power of communities coming together.
Since 2015, the Guardian says its readers have raised more than £16 million for good causes, including fighting child poverty and tackling the climate crisis.
