The new wellbeing suite which launched on 1st May 2021 includes access to a range of digital resources and tools via the NewstrAid website and a free helpline 0808 196 2016 manned 24/7 by clinically trained experts.
Sinead Flood, Welfare Manager for NewstrAid said: “NewstrAid is thrilled to be working with Spectrum.Life to launch a wealth of new resources and tools to support the emotional wellbeing of the industry. Helping colleagues who are feeling overwhelmed or who are struggling to cope is an essential part of the service NewstrAid offers to the industry and we are delighted to be launching a new suite including a Wellbeing Helpline and Digital Platform which is open to everyone in the news trade including partners/spouses and dependents over 16 who are living at home.”
Stephen Costello, CEO of Spectrum.Life said: “The team at Spectrum.Life is delighted to be working with NewstrAid. The past year has been extremely disruptive and stressful for the industry NewstrAid supports with many people facing temporary job losses and business closures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. To help navigate these uncertain times, we are encouraging everyone across the industry to take advantage of the confidential helpline and the digital wellbeing platform made available as part of the Spectrum.Life and NewstrAid partnership.”
This new wellbeing suite follows the announcement in January that Hearst UK would be supporting NewstrAid’s wellbeing services for three years in memory of its former chief executive, Terry Mansfield.
Sinead Flood added: “The key to overcoming difficulties is to get help early, and it takes courage to take that first step. If you are in need of support, please visit our website to explore all the information that’s available there and if you feel you need to talk to someone then please do call the new, free helpline 0808 196 2016.”
