Beano Studios has secured new multi-year partnerships across TV, SVOD and FAST as it celebrates 75 years of Dennis the Menace, expanding the brand’s reach to kids and families on CBBC, ITVX and via a new OTTera-powered FAST channel.
CBBC has renewed the hit CGI series Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! (Series 2) in a multi-year commitment that will keep the show on UK children’s television on CBBC and BBC iPlayer for years to come. The renewal underlines the International Emmy Award nominated show’s enduring appeal and Dennis’s central place in modern kids’ entertainment with high-energy adventures, laugh-out-loud mayhem and classic Beanotown mischief, says Beano Studios.
ITVX has licensed Beano’s classic 2D animation catalogue in a multi-year deal that brings Dennis & Gnasher (1996) and Bananaman to its free streaming tiers, with ad-free access for premium viewers. The agreement allows fans old and new rediscover two of Britain’s favourites on one of the UK’s fastest growing streaming platforms, and follows prior availability on BritBox.
For global reach, Beano says it has also teamed with FAST service provider OTTera on a dedicated Dennis and Gnasher FAST channel. The 24/7 lineup features Dennis & Gnasher and Bananaman, alongside Beano Allstars and Marvo the WonderChicken, offering families a fresh way to dive into the Beano universe on connected TVs. The channel will be distributed by OTTera across top-tier platforms, with Samsung TV+ already on board in the UK.
Rob Glenny, executive director of growth and new product development at Beano Studios, said: “Seventy-five years in, Dennis is still breaking the rules and the ratings. These partnerships with CBBC, ITVX and OTTera make it even easier for kids to discover Dennis for the first time and for grown-ups to share the Beano they loved on broadcast, on demand and on free streaming channels. It’s the perfect way to celebrate our Year of Mischief.”
