Centaur to acquire B2B marketing services business

Centaur Media plc announced earlier this month, the acquisition of MarketMakers – a leading UK fully integrated end to end B2B marketing services business.

This is a further step in Centaur’s strategy to provide customers with continued innovation and capability to help them accelerate their business performance, says the company. The deal is subject to shareholder approval.

According to Centaur, MarketMakers, and its division ReallyB2B, is a leader in its field and will bring sophisticated B2B telemarketing, data analytics, database enrichment and automated lead generation to the Centaur portfolio.

It will allow Centaur to both accelerate the growth of existing products and bring new capabilities to offer clients. It will also provide MarketMakers’ blue-chip international clients a richer array of marketing services from the Centaur Group.

Centaur also recently announced the sale of its Home Interest business to Future, pending shareholder approval. This comes in line with the Group’s long-term strategy to become a pure focused B2B company. Intent to sell was announced in March 2017, to enable the Home Interest business to build on its impressive business in a high-value B2C environment.

“I’m personally very proud of Home Interest and convinced that Future will provide the next step in its journey of success. It’s a remarkable story that has come from commitment, hard work and innovation” comments Andria Vidler, CEO, Centaur Media plc.

Andria Vidler continued, “These transactions are a major step forward in our continuing transformation of Centaur into a B2B focused business - providing our increasingly professional customer base with a range of higher value-added products and services.

“MarketMakers is the premier business of its kind, led by a talented team, with a blue-chip international customer base. We believe that the business is a natural fit: an entrepreneurial, ambitious company which puts the needs of customers front and centre. It will bring a rich array of products and technology to Centaur which we will be offering to our customers, while at the same time exposing MarketMakers’ international customer base to Centaur’s products and services.”

“The process of taking Centaur up the B2B value chain continues, and these transactions are very significant steps forward in our ambitions.”
