Chris Dean: “This is a huge triumph and proves that the ambition and enthusiasm to bring our journalism to new audiences across more platforms than ever before is paying off.”

Daily Mail Sport has announced its World Cup video coverage has exceeded the one billion views mark, delivering record-breaking audiences across every major platform.

The team says it generated 1,053,894,601 video views during the tournament, alongside more than 1.6 billion impressions with the number of followers increasing by half a million.

Original video content alone attracted 626 million views – double the total achieved during Euro 2024, added the publisher. Three flagship series – World Cup Daily, Inside England and How the World Watches – were watched more than 25 million times.

Mail Sport’s content resonated across social channels, generating more than 450 million TikTok views while Instagram and Facebook delivered nearly 600 million views combined.

The success extended beyond video, the publisher continued. Website page views rose 53% to 185 million since the dailymail.com migration, significantly outperforming both the previous World Cup and the Euros.

Daily Mail Head of Sport, Chris Dean said: “This is a huge triumph and proves that the ambition and enthusiasm to bring our journalism to new audiences across more platforms than ever before is paying off.

“Just imagine how big these figures will be when England win the Euros in 2028!”
