Dancing Times Launches Growing Digital Archive
Jonathan Gray: “The new digital archive offers us an opportunity to maximise revenue from institutional subscriptions.”

First published in 1894 as the house magazine of the Cavendish Rooms, a ballroom dancing establishment, Dancing Times is the oldest monthly magazine devoted to dancing. It was bought in 1910 by P. J. Richardson and T. M. Middleton and transformed into a national periodical, covering all forms of dancing and reporting worldwide. Each issue gives voice to leading authorities, encourages awareness of dance history and stresses the importance of dance in education.

The new archive provides digital solutions that render it a valuable resource for both academics and industry professionals. From seamless cross-platform access to the robust search function, the platform is designed to allow users to get the most out of the archive’s content.

Dancing Times is available in the Exact Editions shops for individuals and institutions.

Editor of Dancing Times Jonathan Gray remarked: “The new digital archive offers us an opportunity to maximise revenue from institutional subscriptions, a market in which we are particularly keen to expand. The advanced digital functionalities make it an attractive product and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”

Daryl Rayner, Managing Director of Exact Editions, commented: “The archived issues of Dancing Times look brilliant across all digital platforms, and I’m sure that individual and institutional subscribers alike will relish having instant access to such a stunning resource.”
