KHL Group acquires Off-Highway Research

Global construction information publisher, KHL Group, acquired the international market research and management consultancy company, Off-Highway Research on June 1, 2015.

Off-Highway Research specialises in the research and analysis of international construction and agricultural equipment markets, and is the largest of its kind in the world, says KHL Group. The consultancy was formed in 1981 as part of The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and will continue to operate as an independent entity – retaining its brand name - within KHL Group. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Managing Director of Off-Highway Research, David Phillips, will continue to lead the company as Managing Director. “We have known and worked with KHL for many years and see this deal as the exciting next phase in Off-Highway Research’s long term expansion plans.” said Mr Phillips. “Having started the company 34 years ago, I feel that the time was now right to pass the baton on to new owners. KHL and its management team are very familiar with our business, and are keen to develop it still further. Under KHL’s stewardship, Off-Highway Research’s clients and staff can be confident that the future looks very bright indeed. And no: I have no intention of retiring. I am as passionate as ever about the business and the industry we serve, and I look forward immensely to working with the next generation of management.”
