32 teams representing UK media companies competed in Mail Metro Media’s PADELFEST, in partnership with PHD on Wednesday 9th September. Launched last year by Chief Revenue Officer, Dom Williams, the media industry’s padel event, now in its second year, raised £100K for British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Over 150 players and spectators united at Earl’s Court Padel Social Club to enjoy the afternoon of sporting competition and entertainment. PHD was headline partner, alongside Infinitum, Publicis and Wickes sponsoring this year’s event.

Qais Hammad and Alessandro Aquilina, representing Calm Media Investments, claimed the trophy after winning a closely contested final against Chad Simpson and Rob Henderson from Alive Communications. Both teams finished in the top half of their groups before competing in the knockout stages.

Presenting the winners’ trophy, Dom Williams said: “I can’t thank everyone involved in PADELFEST enough for their incredible efforts. It’s an emotional day that makes me very proud, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of all our generous sponsors, passionate teammates, and of course competitive players. British Heart Foundation is a tremendous charity who have supported me and my family through tough times in recent years and I’m beyond proud to now give something back to fund their vital work. Congratulations to our deserving winners, Calm – the standard of padel this year was unbelievably high and they totally deserved it!”

Supporting Mail Metro Media’s cause to raise valuable funds for BHF, abbi&me event consultants once again hosted this year’s PADEFLFEST, whilst BHF played an important part of the day with its branded pop-up area.
