Alex Peake: “By partnering with BILD, and bringing Fame Fighting v Misfits Boxing showdown exclusively to our platform, we’re again proving that The Sun isn't just following the conversation - we’re hosting it."

For the first time, The Sun has announced it is partnering with BILD and Misfits Boxing to bring the high-stakes event to UK and US audiences.

Fame Fighting is a celebrity and influencer boxing event from BILD and Fame Fighting Creator, Eugen Lopez, garnering millions of views.

Misfits Boxing is a crossover boxing promotion company based in the UK, staging some of the biggest celebrity boxing events in the world.

In the UK, Ireland, and US, Fame Fighting v Misfits Boxing will be exclusively available to subscribers of Sun Club, The Sun’s premium membership club, says the publisher.

Streamed live from Germany, Bild will retain the rights to Fame Fighting v Misfits Boxing in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and will be exclusively available on BILD and is reserved for BILDplus subscribers with an additional BILD Fight Pass.

Each of the eight bouts will feature a Misfits boxer against a Fame Fighting boxer.

Dominic Carter, EVP of The Sun says: “We are incredibly excited to partner with BILD and Misfits Boxing to bring this high-octane international event to our audience. By hosting this exclusive broadcast within Sun Club, we are pioneering a new way to expand our membership proposition. Our goal is to constantly find innovative ways to reward our loyal readers, and giving them ringside access to a global cultural phenomenon like this is exactly how we plan to deliver more value than ever before.”

Alex Peake, director of digital (editorial) for The Sun says: “Boxing is in The Sun’s DNA, and with the expertise of our award-winning correspondents, we are the definitive home for the sport’s most trusted news, analysis, interviews and entertainment. By partnering with BILD, and bringing Fame Fighting v Misfits Boxing showdown exclusively to our platform, we’re again proving that The Sun isn't just following the conversation - we’re hosting it, evolving from the best place to read about the fights to a premier destination to watch them live.”

Eugen Lopez: “My goal has always been for us to continuously develop and grow. Fame Fighting International is therefore the next logical step. And a significant upgrade, because through the major brand Misfits, we're collaborating with international superstars and influencers. It will be a challenging clash between Germany and England, but we can win it. Even though we're clearly the underdog in terms of sporting merit. But I love that.”

Carli Underberg, deputy editor-in-chief of Sport, BILD Group and WELT & Editorial Partnerships: “Fame Fighting at BILD is growing ever larger and is now going international in partnership with the British newspaper The Sun. The sporting rivalry between England and Germany has captivated audiences across generations for decades. Especially just before the FIFA World Cup, we're looking forward to this very special showdown in the boxing ring.”

The Sun says more information on matches and the full fight card will be released in the coming weeks.
