Wallpaper* brings back its pocket-sized travel guides

Wallpaper*, a global design brand, has relaunched its celebrated Travel Guides, reintroducing a companion for today’s design-led traveller.

Wallpaper* brings back its pocket-sized travel guides
Bill Prince: “Wallpaper* Travel Guides have always offered a distinctive perspective on the world’s most exciting places.”

Building on the legacy of the original Wallpaper* City Guides – an 80-strong series first launched in 2006 – Future says the newly reimagined Travel Guides return in 2026 with Milan, London, New York City and Paris. Each edition is curated by a Wallpaper* writer based in the city, offering a local, insider perspective on four of the world’s most culturally dynamic and design-forward destinations.

From vibrant neighbourhoods and standout cafés and restaurants to striking architecture, distinctive retail and exceptional hotels, the publisher says each pocket-sized guide presents a selection of places and experiences that define a destination today. The result is a highly considered, design-led view of travel – one that prioritises quality, originality and point of view over volume.

Future says produced in a pocketable format, each book reflects Wallpaper*’s longstanding commitment to both editorial excellence and aesthetic quality.

“Wallpaper* Travel Guides have always offered a distinctive perspective on the world’s most exciting places,” said Bill Prince, editor-in-chief of Wallpaper*. “As Wallpaper* celebrates our 30th anniversary, it’s a fitting moment to reintroduce a product that reflects the values to which we have always adhered – a focus on quality, a global perspective and an appreciation of the finer details that make a destination truly memorable.”

Launched as a print magazine in 1996, Wallpaper* has evolved into a global multi-channel media brand and an internationally recognised authority across design, architecture, fashion, beauty, hospitality, entertainment, technology and transport. The relaunch of the Travel Guides builds on this legacy, the publisher continued, extending Wallpaper*’s editorial authority into a tangible product designed for how people travel today.

Working with writers, photographers and creatives around the world, Wallpaper* is positioned to introduce design lovers to the places and people shaping the most exciting destinations of this decade.

To mark the relaunch, Wallpaper* says it will also have a presence at Milan Design Week, bringing the spirit of the guides into the city through a dedicated kiosk activation located at Via Rivoli, on the corner of Via Tivoli.

The Wallpaper* kiosk has been designed by long-term Wallpaper* collaborators, architecture practice DWA, who were inspired by the Milan Travel Guide’s shade of yellow and the city’s flower – and newspaper-vending spots.

Wallpaper* says it has partnered with Fiat to brand four Topolino cars in the colours of the new Travel Guides, which will be visible across Milan throughout the week.

The brand has also commissioned Milanese design studio NM3 to create a series of furniture to complement the books, including a trio of benches and a book display crafted from zinc-plated iron panels in the studio’s distinctive, minimalist style—designed to elevate the guides and enhance the kiosk experience.

All four guides retail at £15 / €20 and are published by Wallpaper*. They are available globally via selected retailers and online at wallpaper.com.
