Esquire UK's Winter issue, which went on sale from 13 November, marks the beginning of a new era for the brand under the direction of Editor-in-Chief Teo van den Broeke.
As the first issue to be fully edited by van den Broeke, the publisher says it introduces a design refresh, a new cohort of contributors and a renewed commitment to print, with the brand set to increase its publishing frequency to bi-monthly from 2026.
Themed around ‘Better Men’, the launch issue presents a blueprint for better living – a modern reimagining of men serving style with purpose, added Esquire UK. The edition will see three bespoke covers featuring actors Jonathan Bailey, Colman Domingo, and Alexander Skarsgård, each exemplifying the magazine’s vision of contemporary masculinity.
At the heart of the issue is the debut of the Better Men List — a curated index of individuals from a broad spectrum of industries who represent integrity, creativity, and progress, the publisher continued. Selected by the Esquire UK team, alongside a panel of judges, the honourees were celebrated at an inaugural Esquire Better Men event at Claridge’s on 12 November, in collaboration with headline partner BOSS.
According to the publisher, the Esquire UK team will welcome a cohort of new contributors, including Nick Foulkes (Watches & Jewellery); Gianluca Longo, Ben Cobb and Caroline Issa (Style); Charlene Prempeh (Design); Jackson Boxer (Food); and Charlie Casely Hayford (Tailoring). Plus, contributing editors such as Lou Stoppard, Alex Bilmes, Liam Freeman, Philippa Snow, Robert Rabensteiner, Julian Ganio, Felicity Kay, Ben Schofield and Rose Forde. The reimagined magazine also features new sections centred around style, life and culture, elevated photography and an enhanced paper quality stock.
The brand’s design evolution ushers in a new visual identity, paying homage to the title’s DNA with a fresh and modern aesthetic, says Esquire UK. The redesign will also introduce a new series of video franchises that spotlight the trailblazers shaping contemporary style and culture.
Teo van den Broeke, editor-in-chief, Esquire UK, says: “British Esquire has always been a beacon of intelligence, style, and service. I started reading Esquire as a teenager, and I am now honoured to evolve its extraordinary legacy with the inaugural Better Men issue. In the issue, we celebrate good men doing great things. Men who are engaged with the world, with purpose and good taste as guiding principles for better living.”
