How to Measure the Success of Your Digital Magazine - the main KPIs and how to measure them

ON DEMAND: WATCH NOW

There’s no doubt about it, things have felt distinctly upbeat for some publishers in the past 18 months. Since the launch of Newsstand, most magazines have launched digital versions onto Apple, some onto other devices and are seeing some return on limited investment. A minority of publishers are sharing very rosy tales of performance, from percentage of total circulation to growth in revenues or new consumers and many other areas in between. But many reporting tools we need are missing from the platform providers, so in a medium where everything can be measured, how do we identify the important metrics, implement the correct reporting tools and language and understand what the metrics might be telling us about our particular brands?

Previously Publishing Director, Mobile Devices for BBC Magazines, Rebekah Billingsley is founder of Big Cat Consulting Limited, set up to help smaller publishers realise their digital potential. Having released over 35 magazines across Apple, Kindle, Nook and Google Play, delivering over 2m downloads and £1m in revenue and working across technical, marketing, subscriptions and advertising strategies, this webinar will cover all aspects of the business to help publishers understand the measurement opportunities of their digital magazines.

What you can expect to learn:

  • Understand what metrics are available where and what they allow us to measure across sales, marketing, subscriptions and advertising
  • Identify the metrics not available and understand ways to bridge the gaps
  • How to set your key KPIs, how to measure them effectively and how to use them to tell a story
  • Learn about the other tools out there that can help you understand your business better

This webinar was broadcast on 2.30-3.15pm (GMT), Tuesday 9 April 2013
