Murray has 25 years’ experience in consumer media and publishing, across a range of market sectors, products and platforms, including the development and launch of Lonely Planet Magazine, GardenersWorld.com and The Secret Garden, Gardeners’ World digital subscription platform.
He has been publisher of BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine since 2003 and MD for Immediate’s Gardening and Parenting portfolio since January 2019. In the last two years Gardeners’ World has recorded year-on-year digital and revenue growth with a premium, cross-platform and subscriptions-driven strategy, say the publishers.
Murray also joins the Immediate Leadership Team, reporting to Immediate CEO Tom Bureau, who says: “Radio Times is the UK’s biggest magazine brand and having worked with Dom since we formed Immediate in 2011, I am confident, with his impressive track record, that he will drive growth and innovation as we look to open up new opportunities and continue to attract new audiences to the brand.
I would also like to thank Kathy Day, her work on Radio Times has been a huge part of Immediate’s success over the last nine years. She’s had an incredible career and as a trusted colleague and friend, we will miss her from the Leadership Team and the business.”
Commenting on his new role, Dominic Murray, says: “I’m honoured to be appointed as the new MD of Radio Times, and excited about the opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to working with the team to continue their remarkable record of success.”
Murray will take up the role at the start of October 2020.
