Lifestyle magazine The Idler has launched a new digital archive in collaboration with publishing platform Exact Editions.

The Idler launches individual and institutional digital subscriptions
Tom Hodgkinson: “We’re excited to be exploring this new avenue of distribution for the magazine.”

Available for individual and institutional subscriptions, the archive currently comprises 8 book-size issues that encourage readers to slow down and live well and will grow with each new issue published.

Founded by writer Tom Hodgkinson in 1993, each bi-monthly issue of The Idler offers a feast of great writing, interviews, cartoons, practical advice on living the idle life and beautiful illustrations, says Exact Editions. Its famous fans include actor Sir Michael Palin, who commented “A sumptuous treat… The Idler’s appeal and relevance seem to increase by the day.”

As well as a seamless navigational interface, the new archive offers a comprehensive search function that allows readers to find specific articles and key themes. Institutional subscribers benefit from Exact Editions’ remote access options to ensure seamless access from any location.

The Idler is available in the Exact Editions individual and institutional shops.

Founder Tom Hodgkinson remarked: “We’re excited to be exploring this new avenue of distribution for the magazine. The search function in particular ensures an enhanced experience to help readers to get the most out the back issues.”

Managing Director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner, remarked: “Browsing The Idler’s archive is like taking a breath of fresh air! Subscribers old and new will love flicking through the treasure trove of content centred around living the ‘idle’ life.”
