Goalhanger is launching Doing It Anyway, a new limited series hosted by journalist, broadcaster and author Katty Kay, available from 10 July. Presented in partnership with Vanguard, the six-part weekly series will explore how confidence shapes the way we live, work and make choices, with a particular focus on women’s experiences, says the publisher. Bringing together data, psychology and real-life stories, it will unpack how people can build confidence and change the way they approach opportunity, ambition and risk.

As co-host of The Rest Is Politics: US and co-author of the bestselling books The Confidence Code and Womenomics, Katty has spent years studying the art and science of confidence, leadership and gender. In Doing It Anyway, she will speak to psychologists, business leaders, authors and high-profile figures about how confidence is built, why it matters, and what holds people back from acting on their ambitions, Goalhanger continued.

Across the run, Katty will explore the confidence gap between men and women, the role of self-doubt, the psychology of resilience, and the practical steps people can take to move forward even when they feel uncertain.

Upcoming guests include Adam Grant, organisational psychologist and author; Mika Brzezinski, founder of the Know Your Value movement, co-host of Morning Joe and bestselling author; Ally Love, Peloton instructor, CEO and founder of Love Squad, and in-arena host of the Brooklyn Nets; Anne-Marie Imafidon, CEO of Stemettes and leading computer scientist; Dr Kristin Neff, a leading expert on self-compassion and wellbeing; and Anthony Scaramucci, Wall Street financier, former White House Director of Communications and Katty’s co-host on The Rest Is Politics: US.

Speaking on the announcement, Katty Kay said: “I’ve wanted to do this series for a long time. There are so many things I wish I’d known when I was starting out - the hurdles, failures and fears I’ve had to work through along the way. In these episodes, we’re sharing the best of my research, but also lots of practical advice: how to recognise the obstacles, face them down, and do it anyway.”

Katty Kay is known for her expertise in global politics, U.S. affairs, confidence and leadership. She spent nearly three decades at the BBC, anchoring BBC World News America and covering six U.S. presidential elections. She is now U.S. Special Correspondent for BBC Studios, co-host of The Rest Is Politics: US, host of New Normal with Katty Kay, and a regular contributor and guest host on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

The launch of Doing It Anyway builds on Goalhanger’s growing slate of series across politics, history, sport, entertainment, science, business and culture, including The Rest Is Politics, The Rest Is History, The Rest Is Entertainment, The Rest Is Politics: US, The Rest Is Football, The Rest Is Science, The Book Club and Sherlock & Co. Its launch also follows Goalhanger being named Britain’s fastest-growing private company in The Sunday Times 100, after a period of rapid growth across audio, video, live, membership and commercial.

Doing It Anyway With Katty Kay will be available on YouTube and all podcast platforms from 10 July, with new episodes released every Friday across a six-episode run.
