Reach appoints Sheena McStravick
Sheena McStravick: “I’m delighted to be appointed permanent editor of Belfast Live."

Reach plc has announced Sheena McStravick as editor of Belfast Live. Currently serving as acting editor, Sheena assumes the role permanently, continuing to lead the Belfast Live team.

Since launching in 2015, Reach says Belfast Live has become Northern Ireland’s biggest commercial news site according to Ipsos Iris, reaching as high as 53% of the entire online population in recent months, which the publisher says is larger than any of its competitors.

Newly appointed editor of Belfast Live, Sheena McStravick said: “I’m delighted to be appointed permanent editor of Belfast Live. It feels like a full circle moment to now lead the website I helped to grow from humble beginnings to the biggest commercial news site in NI.

“At the core of Belfast Live has always been its commitment to serving all communities in Northern Ireland and bringing them the latest breaking news first, as well as delving into local communities and giving people a voice, and this is something I am proud to lead our team of talented journalists in continuing to do, hopefully for many years to come.”

Commenting on the appointment, Michael Marsh, head of digital publishing in Ireland, added: “With nine years of experience working with the brand, Sheena is well-equipped to steer Belfast Live into the future.

“Sheena has been a key cog in the wheel since day one and knows the site - and its audience - inside out. I've no doubt Belfast Live is in safe hands and that it will continue to thrive under Sheena's leadership.”
