The Independent has announced the launch of the new series of Love Lives, a podcast series dedicated to discussing relationships and experiences with love.

The publisher says the first episodes of the season, which is available now, features author Bryony Gordon whose work includes Mad Girl, an honest and candid autobiography on Bryony’s life with mental illness. In the new episode, Bryony discusses her new book, Mad Woman, her struggles with drugs and alcohol, and some of the myths around OCD. British-Korean-Turkish writer and author, Ela Lee, joined the show this week to discuss her hotly anticipated novel, Jaded, confronting aftermath of “blackout sex”, the grey area of consent, and why we need to debunk the ‘nice guy’ myth to tackle rape culture.

The new series, hosted by The Independent’s relationships writer, Olivia Petter, will speak to guests about their experience of love, what this taught them, and, more broadly, their latest projects or upcoming work.

The Independent says other upcoming guests on Love Lives include:

  • Scottish singer song-writer, Tom Walker;
  • Award winning journalist and author, Otegha Uwagba;
  • English writer, podcaster and comedian, Andrew Hunter Murray.

Olivia’s previous guests have included Zara Larsson, Hayley Atwell, Caroline O'Donoghue, Megan Nolan and Lorraine Candy. In 2021, Olivia published the book Millennial Love, based on her interviews with Emily Ratajkowski, Amber Gill, Will Young and Maisie Peters for the Independent podcast.

This latest series will include 10 episodes, added the publisher, released fortnightly on Fridays, in audio and video format on Independent TV and the Love Lives YouTube channel, as well as Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Acast.

Olivia Petter, host of Love Lives, said: “I can't wait to delve into conversation with guests this series and find out about the love of their lives. This second season will give the inside story on latest work from a wide range of people, revealing the loves and relationships that have allowed them to thrive.”

Tom Richell, Head of Multimedia at The Independent said: “We are excited to announce the launch of a new series of Love Lives on Independent TV and podcast platforms. It is great to see our audiences continue to enjoy the new series on the TV platform as we continue to expand our services.

“At The Independent, we are always looking for ways to innovate on what we can offer and Independent TV is doing just that building on from last year’s success in adapting ways for audiences to consume news.”
