Reporting into Richard Fletcher, business editor of The Times, Katie will be responsible for covering business technology news and will have a weekly column in the business section.

Katie is an experienced business presenter and journalist, and joins after a decade of reporting for the BBC. Her most recent roles include business presenter and producer for Radio 4’s Today programme and business correspondent across BBC News on TV, radio and online.

During her time at the BBC, Katie has reported on a wide range of topics from the European debt crisis to the business changes brought by the Covid-19 pandemic and new technology.

Katie Prescott said: “I am delighted to be joining the prestigious Times Business desk and covering what I think is the most exciting patch in journalism, crossing every sector with an impact on all of our lives. The landscape of tech and media is changing fast and I’m looking forward to bringing all of the key stories to readers, listeners and viewers across Times platforms.”
