Dedicated entirely to the art of cake decorating, the new monthly magazine follows the success of the world’s largest cake show of the same name, organised by ICHF Events, Time Inc UK’s craft events business, say the publishers.
According to Time Inc UK, every month, Cake International will be packed with aspirational content and mouth-watering visuals to inspire and provide readers with everything they need to know to produce their own masterpieces. Like the show itself, the magazine will reveal top trends to keep readers up-to-date all year round, as well as innovations from the world of cake decorating, making this a must-have for both beginner and experienced cake enthusiasts.
Dedicated features will help readers create cakes with step-by-step tutorials from top designers. It also aims to encourage readers to showcase and share their ideas and designs and is committed to equipping readers with new skills by offering tips from the team’s own gurus, monthly reviews and problem solving pages.
Melanie Underwood, events manager of the Cake International Show and commissioning editor of the magazine says: “It’s been truly exciting to see how the show has expanded over the years, and introducing the magazine to the market is a reflection on how significant it really is. We wanted to recognise the growing trend in cake decorating by encapsulating all that’s great about it and produce a monthly magazine to enable consumers to read and experiment in the comfort of their own homes. The show and magazine really complement one another and are certainly a must for cake lovers.”
The launch further bolsters Time Inc UK’s position in the craft market and follows the launch of The Craft Network, an umbrella brand for Time Inc UK's craft offering. May 2016 saw the launch of The Craft Network Sewing, followed by Love to Knit & Crochet, both monthly magazines with free cover gifts each issue. In addition, Time Inc UK acquired ICHF Events, the craft events business, in 2015. Through its portfolio of brands, Time Inc UK reaches over 7.5 million UK crafters, say the publishers.
Priced at £4.99, the first issue of Cake International will hit newsstands on Friday, 16 September.
