Emerald Publishing says, aligned with both organisations’ shared mission to advance research that delivers meaningful real‑world change, the Emerald-Purdue Research Impact Series will spotlight scholarship across multiple disciplines. Each book will be authored by at least one Purdue faculty member, continued Emerald Publishing, with many titles drawing on the university’s most successful and influential recent doctoral research. The series aims to amplify innovative thinking that advances societal, industrial and global progress, going beyond citation metrics to focus on evidence‑driven impact.
As longstanding advocates for transforming how research is evaluated, Emerald Publishing and Purdue say they share a belief that the value of scholarship lies in its ability to shape policy, practice, behaviour and understanding. The new series will serve as a platform for research that directly addresses real‑world needs and challenges, supporting both institutions’ commitments to improving how research inputs and outcomes are disseminated, recognized and measured.
The Emerald-Purdue Impact Series will be guided by an editorial board representing leadership across Purdue’s research, innovation and academic strategy:
- Haley Oliver-Jischke, senior vice provost for academic and student success and 150th Anniversary Professor of food science
- Preeti Sivasankar, vice president for research innovation and professor of speech, language, and hearing sciences
- Alfred J. López, associate dean for undergraduate and international programs and Indianapolis; provost fellow, Purdue University Books Initiatives; professor and head, Department of English
- Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects
