DMGT shrinks its carbon footprint

In 2012, DMGT made a public commitment to reduce the Group's carbon footprint by 10% over three years. This week DMGT published results of the progress made.

Measures to reduce environmental impact, use energy more efficiently and minimise waste have been rolled out across the organisation, says DMGT.

The Group has managed to exceed its target, resulting in a 27% cut back on CO2 emissions in just three years. From a baseline of 41.7 tCO2 per £million in 2012, the Group has successfully decreased its carbon emissions to 30.3 tCO2 per £million in 2015.

The reduction has not only had a positive effect on the environment, but has also helped DMGT to become more cost efficient. All global operations within the Group have contributed to the result, which demonstrates DMGT's commitment to tackling climate change across its portfolio, says the company.

Moving forward, DMGT will continue to promote environmental awareness in 2016 by encouraging its businesses to take part in a year of monthly 'green' activities to remind employees to consider the impact on the environment in their daily lives.
