Guardian announces appointment of Richard Furness

Guardian News & Media (GNM) has appointed Richard Furness as its new chief strategy and business development officer.

Furness has been part of the Guardian since 1998, working in a number of vital roles, including as marketing director, director of publishing and most recently as managing director, customer engagement and business development, says the publisher.

According to the Guardian, in his new role Furness will shape and execute the Guardian strategy as well as lead on developing and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships. He will continue to lead on maximising revenue growth from across the Guardian's expanding multimedia portfolio.
