Selling more than 500m cans a year, Play-Doh is a multi-generational brand with over 70 years’ experience in shaping young minds, inspiring self-expression, and celebrating imagination as a superpower, says Kennedy Publishing. The new official Play-Doh magazine will combine sensory fun with hands-on activities that invite children to play, learn, and make.
Each issue will come with a fun sticker sheet, a tool set, and 2-3 Play-Doh cans, offering everything readers need to start moulding, added Kennedy Publishing. The magazine will extend the play possibilities through exciting crafts, on-the-page sculpting prompts, and ‘how to’ instructions for building. Whilst the focus is on creativity and exploration, Play-Doh will also have an educational angle for preschool readers. With an interactive story, facts, a letter-learning game, and a maths page every issue, there will be endless opportunities for curiosity and development.
“We are thrilled to work with Hasbro to bring the iconic Play-Doh brand to life in the magazine aisles,” says Holly Blood-Taylor, publishing manager at Kennedy Publishing. “Developing the magazine has been a joy – and a hands-on experience! It has been rewarding to explore the ways the Play-Doh compound and tool sets can inspire creativity, learning, and play throughout the pages. We know the magazine is going to be hugely popular with children and parents, and we can’t wait to see what they create.”
“Kennedy Publishing’s expertise in creating engaging titles for young audiences makes them an ideal partner for Play-Doh,” said Marianne James, senior vice president of global licensing at Hasbro. “We’re excited to bring the brand to the UK magazine market and connect with families through a new format.”
The first issue of Play-Doh will be Halloween-themed. It will be on sale in the UK on 15th October 2026 and will be available at all key retailers for £6.99.
