Metro newspaper has launched its new competition, Metro Minted Mornings – giving readers the chance to win £1,000 every day last week. The competition will run again in December and continue for one week in every month in the new year, added the publisher.

Deborah Arthurs, Metro’s editor-in-chief, wrote in last Monday’s edition of the paper: “We are excited to be launching Metro Minted Mornings, a chance for our readers to win £1,000 each day for five days every month. Metro is all about brightening people’s mornings and what better way to do that than giving them a chance to get MINTED. In the lead up to Christmas, we could all do with a little more disposable income so don’t forget to enter by lunchtime today.”

Metro says, with the youngest and most diverse audience of all national newspapers, and the newly launched competition aims to reward Metro’s loyal and engaged readers.

Richard Thomson, Metro’s managing director, said: “There’s no avoiding the cost-of-living crisis and with Christmas just around the corner, we’re delighted to be bringing Metro Minted Mornings to commuters across the length and breadth of the UK – it’s an opportunity to give something back as a thank you for years of loyal readership.”

High impact front covers promoted the competition every day last week, instructing readers to turn to page three to ‘discover the advertiser’ and text or call their answer for the chance to win (texts and calls are charged at £1).
