A fully integrated collaboration between print and digital combining House & Garden magazine editorial with original new content, HOUSE has built an engaged and passionate audience, reflected both in its remarkable unique user and social media figures, says Condé Nast.
According to the publishers: Originally forecast to hit 500,000 unique users by 2018, the site exceeded this by April 2014, the first full month after launch. It currently holds a unique user figure of 801, 857 (+317% year on year), with 4,686,103 page impressions, (+335% year on year). (Source: Google Analytics Nov14-Jan15).
Social media figures reflect an equally strong following. Eight months after launching HOUSE, House & Garden reported a 15,554% year-on-year increase in total Facebook fans. Currently, Likes on Facebook reach nearly four million, (+1,403% year on year) growing by an average of around 200,000 fans each month in the last six months. Twitter followers are equally as strong with 49.3k followers (+112% year on year) (Source: Latest date 2nd February 2015/3rd February 2014).
Editor of HOUSE Alaina Vieru comments, "HOUSE's tremendous growth has been entirely natural and something which we are particularly proud of. Rather than using sponsored Facebook posts, or advertising spend, we took our lead from what was trending on Google and blogs, and matched it with House & Garden's incredible archive. With a wealth of unique photography, it has proved an irresistible mix for fans of image-led social media platforms."
Kate Slesinger, Publishing Director of House & Garden comments, "HOUSE has allowed us to augment - at speed - the already upmarket House & Garden audience with new, notably influential users – they index highest against wealthy Mosaic Groups 'Prestige Positions' and 'City Prosperity'. This is exciting news for advertisers seeking to reach devotees of the House & Garden brand, whatever the platform. "
Digital Director Wil Harris adds, “The incredible growth of House online is proof that it’s not just young fashionistas that are embracing Conde Nast titles in digital formats - our extremely upscale and established interiors audiences are craving online content, too. House and Garden sets the standard for interiors titles in print, and I am delighted that we have managed to convert that leadership to the web.”
